At the request of the local administration, we carried out a high-precision 3D survey to support the control, verification, and completion phases of a hydrogeological protection barrier project in the Rhêmes Valley (Aosta).
The challenge
This environmental engineering intervention, crucial for hydrogeological risk mitigation, had been interrupted before completion. It was therefore necessary to accurately reconstruct the project’s progress to allow work to safely resume.
The “ad hoc” solution”
We performed an updated 3D survey of the area, overlaying the design sections with those measured in the field.
This comparative analysis made it possible to:
– verify differences between the design and the existing structure
– calculate actual and missing volumes
– provide designers with accurate data for the final redesign of the barrier and the subsequent approval to complete the works.
The result: A complete and validated 3D model that enabled the project to be finalized in full alignment with hydrogeological risk mitigation objectives.
