Quarries, Mines and Caves

Modern techniques, and specifically laser scanner and aerial photogrammetry, make high detail 3D surveys possible even in places that were used to be just described with coarse precisions.
3D models may lead both to traditional technical drawings or to virtual models. 3D virtual models are fully measurable, offer the possibility of the virtual navigation of the site, and may be used to produce 3D replicas. 3D virtual models represent a great innovation for the usability and analyses of geological sites and for their educational valorisation.

A correct management of the reference systems also allows us to correctly manage quarry projects and integrate other types of surveys into the 3D models, useful for the study and exploitation and monitoring of 2D and 3D, such as geophysical and geosismic sections , bathymetric analysis and models, forages, interferometric data, ...
