Ad Hoc 3D solutions

Archeology and Restoration

We perform quick and detailed survey to support the investigation of archaeological digs. Our own developed tools support the whole study process, from the documentation of Stratigraphic Units to the building of the matrix and the definition of phases and periods.
We produce detailed 2D or 3D survey to support the design and the operations of restoration and conservations interventions. Our own developed tools support the whole study process, from the documentation of the decay state and conservation, to the design of the interventions, from the documentation of the interventions to their monitoring.

3D monitoring survey of the main entrance. The survey has been carried out using a laser scanning system that allow to obtain an extremely hight accuracy 3D model. Using photogrammetry all the wall's true orthophotos have been obtained. The whoole project has been managed using ad hoc MM software.

High resolution 3D survey of some parts of a Brodmann piano of 1800 for the restoration. In particular, the survey has been used to draw the CAD of the pin block that needs to be replaced. Aosta Roman Theatre

3D laser scanner, photogrammetric and UAV survey of the Roman Theatre of Aosta. It was the first time that an archaeological site in the Aosta valley was surveyed by mean of an UAV. 200 orthophotos of all the walls, a nadir orthophoto of the site and a cylindrical orthophoto of the Cavea were produced. The analysis of the wall stratigraphy was conducted, single context recording was produced; the matrix 3D was dynamically produced by an own developed tool. Archaeological sites in Ivrea

3D laser scanner survey of archaeological areas in Ivrea: the Roman amphitheatre, the Insula near Balla Square, the archaeological site under the former La Serra Hotel, the digging near C.so Massimo D'Azeglio. By the 3D survey, the archaeological map of the city of Ivrea was updated. CAD drawings for the Archaeological Safeguard Office beside shapefiles for the municipal GIS were produced. Virtual 3D videos were produced and are shown in educational multimedia installations at the Museo Civico Pier Carlo Garda in Ivrea.

Duomo di Bondeno

3D laser scanner survey of the whole Duomo di Bondeno (facade, interior parts, attics) after the recent earthquake. The survey was conducted in a few days and in less than a week we delivered a complete and coloured 3D model. Our AdHoc software suite was enriched with custom tools to better interoperate with CAD environments and to help prospective views, plants, sections and videos in a more easy way. By exploiting our work, a staff of architects was able to rapidly create the documentation for the restoration intervention.
